Phase 1 In every lesson we will review content, focussing on using good Biological vocabulary, debunking common student errors and using practice questions from past papers. Good exam techniques will be thoroughly embedded throughout the course. Students often lose time by not understanding how to start an answer effectively. I will work on this during every lesson as an intrinsic activity. Lesson 1: Cells, classification criteria, Enzymes, Diffusion, osmosis and active transport, Human nutrition, diet, food tests Lesson 2: Plant nutrition and transport, photosynthesis and transpiration, interpreting experimental data Respiration and gas exchange in human and plants Lesson 3: Blood and organs, immunity heart and circulation Kidneys, excretion and osmoregulation Lesson 4: Co-ordination and response. Neurones, reflexes, the eye, the brain, Hormones and homeostasis, plant responses. Lesson 5: Reproduction and inheritance. Mitosis and meiosis. Plant and human reproduction. Asexual reproduction, menstrual cycle. Genetics and interpreting genetic diagrams
