Educational background highlights: BA Chinese Studies (with a Year Abroad) at Durham University. English Literature, History, and Theatre at Higher Level IB.
Brief self-introduction: British-Belgian tutor with a facility for languages including English, Chinese, and Dutch.
Tutor’s skills: Likes to establish a baseline of what the student needs to work on during initial lessons, later tailoring lessons to strengthen those areas and consolidate existing strengths.
Teaching style: I believe in creating a relaxed and supportive learning environment for my students where they feel confident to ask questions and engage fully. While structured learning is important, I aim to personalise lessons to each student to meet their individual needs and goals. With a background in Theatre and Humanities, I have a deep appreciation for storytelling, language, and critical thinking. I encourage students to develop strong analytical and communication skills—whether through structured writing, source evaluation, or confident public speaking. My goal is to help students not only master English but also express themselves effectively and think independently, equipping them for success in prestigious academic settings.
