Experienced tutor specialising in English Literature and Language as well as school and Oxbridge admissions. Previously worked in an ambitious UK school, helping students significantly exceed their predicted grades. Previous career working in the heart of Westminster politics.
I am skilled at improving not only a student’s fluency, but their flair for both written and spoken English. I can develop a natural curiosity and love for reading and discussing literature, and also prepare students for specific tests and interviews. I am a theatre director and teacher, so know how to make my lessons varied and exciting. I primarily teach English Literature and Language, Government and Politics, verbal reasoning and interview technique.
Friendly, funny and approachable, I find out what students are interested in and tap into their curiosity to develop their love for a subject. Our conversations prepare students to have cultured debates in academic settings such as school and university interviews. I connect with students and discuss their interests with them, improving their verbal and written fluency and flair. I find fun examples and exercises to keep our lessons fresh, whilst maintaining a standard of academic rigour and focus. In my lessons students will read new and engaging texts, have lots of lively discussions, and pay close attention to technique, grammar and tone.
