Brief self-introduction: Software Engineer currently working in FinTech. Tutored students in IB for 1 year.
Tutor's skills: Good at figuring out where the student is and how we can best get them to where they need to be. Building the students' knowledge up to their goals instead of just trying to bruteforce understanding of complex topics.
Teaching style: I think it's very important to give the student the tools to tackle any problem instead of just focusing on the ones we have in front of us at the moment. My goal is always to give the student a strong methodology for solving problems that they can apply alone. This is done by having them understand how simpler topics work and establishing building blocks to build up to more complex topics (e.g. making sure that a student has a robust understanding of limits before starting differentiation/integration).
