9+, 11+ and 13+ entrance exams (English, Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning, Creative Writing, Interview Preparation)
GCSE, A-level and International Baccalaureate preparation (English, Theology, Philosophy, Poetry, Shakespeare)
University and Oxbridge preparation (Personal Statements, Essay Writing, Interview Preparation)
Dr. Rowland has successfully prepared students for places at many leading UK Independent Schools including St Pauls, Westminster, Winchester, Eton College, Magdalen College School and Oxford High School. He has also prepared several students to successful places at top UK universities, including Oxford, Cambridge and the University of London.
Tutor’s skill: he uses experience as a teacher to provide highly effective learning methods, plus his teaching experience allows the students to find out their own mind set and learning methods to prepare for examinations.
Teaching Style:
I believe in building a student's ability from the ground up, ensuring they feel confident with the foundations of a subject before challenging them to go further. My teaching philosophy places a high emphasis on tailoring the content of my classes to individual pupils: every student is different, has different likes and dislikes, and finds certain areas more difficult than others. With my years of success and experience teaching across a range of different age groups and levels of ability, I understand the importance of getting to know my students as individuals in order to deliver the best tuition possible. I am a friendly and reliable tutor with an exceptional track record and more than ten years’ experience. I am always ready to go the extra mile to ensure the best results for my students and look forward to new challenges!
