Phase 3: 1-to-3. Phase 3 content. This intensive course is designed for Year 11 students preparing for the IGCSE English Literature exam. The course aims to improve and maximise students' grades by focusing on comprehension and analytical skills. Students will engage with a variety of literary texts, including novels, plays, and poetry, developing their ability to analyse and interpret literature critically. The course is tailored to meet individual student needs, ensuring comprehensive preparation for the IGCSE English Literature exam. This course is also suitable for students taking exams from other boards, with content adapted as necessary. Session 1: Lesson Objective: To learn how to approach an unseen prose extract Homework: Prose exercise Session 2: Lesson Objective: To learn how to plan an unseen prose extract question Homework: Prose exercise Session 3: Lesson Objective: To learn how to write an unseen prose extract question Homework: Prose exercise Session 4: Lesson Objective: To learn how to approach an unseen poetry question Homework: Poetry exercise Session 5: Lesson Objective: To learn how to plan an unseen poetry question Homework: Poetry exercise Session 6: Lesson Objective: To learn how to write an unseen poetry question Homework: Poetry exercise Session 7: Lesson Objective: To answer an unseen prose extract question under exam conditions and receive feedback. General revision of poetry and prose paper Session 9: Lesson Objective: To revise the poetry and prose paper and deal with any outstanding issues and questions.
