Service Description
Phase 1: It is a 1-to-3 course. This intensive Physics course is designed to prepare Year 11 students for their GCSE/IGCSE exams in summer 2025. Delivered online over two phases—10 hours in February half-term and 10 hours during the Easter break—it offers a comprehensive review of key topics, focusing on both conceptual understanding and exam success. The course is tailored to support students in mastering the most challenging areas of the syllabus, reinforcing their confidence through interactive teaching, problem-solving, and targeted exam practice. Through a combination of engaging demonstrations, digital simulations, and expert guidance on exam techniques, students will develop a deeper understanding of physics concepts while building the skills needed to answer exam questions effectively. This program not only reviews core topics but also addresses common pitfalls and teaches strategies to maximise exam performance. Lesson 1: Core Principles – Energy and Power (2 hours) Recap: Energy transfer, conservation of energy, and efficiency. Interactive: Simulated experiments using online tools to explore specific heat capacity. Practice: Tackling exam-style questions on energy and efficiency calculations. Lesson 2: Forces in Motion – Part 1 (2 hours) Key concepts: Newton’s laws, resultant forces, and inertia. Digital Demonstration: Online collision simulations and free-body diagram analysis. Problem-solving: Worked examples on acceleration, force, and resultant force calculations. Lesson 3: Forces in Motion – Part 2 (2 hours) Advanced concepts: Momentum and its conservation, applications in safety (e.g., car crashes). Activity: Interactive simulations of collisions to explore momentum conservation. Practice: Questions on momentum and related real-world applications. Lesson 4: Electricity Fundamentals (2 hours) Key concepts: Circuit components, Ohm’s law (V=IR), and resistance. Interactive: Building virtual circuits using an online tool to explore series and parallel arrangements. Exam preparation: Structured guidance on circuit-related questions. Lesson 5: Electricity and Static (2 hours) Understanding static electricity and its applications (e.g., photocopiers, lightning). Activity: Electrostatic simulations to visualise forces and charges in action. Past paper review: Exam questions focusing on electricity and static electricity.
