Phase 3: 1-to-3. Phase 3 content. This intensive course is designed for Year 11 students preparing for the GCSE English Language exam. The course aims to improve and maximise students' grades by focusing on both comprehension and creative writing skills. Students will engage with fiction and non-fiction texts, developing their ability to analyse and create compelling written pieces. The course is tailored to meet individual student needs, ensuring comprehensive preparation for the GCSE English Language exam. This course is also suitable for students taking exams from other boards, with content adapted as necessary. Session 1: Lesson Objective: To learn how to use persuasive and argumentative techniques Homework: Persuasive and argumentative exercise Session 2: Lesson Objective: To learn how to write a speech Homework: Speech writing exercise (planning or writing part of) Session 3: Lesson Objective: To learn how to write a magazine article Homework: Magazine article writing exercise (planning or writing part of) Session 4: Lesson Objective: To learn how to write a blog Homework: Blog writing exercise (planning or writing part of) Session 5: Lesson Objective: To learn how to write a letter Homework: Letter Writing Exercise (Planing or writing part of) Session 6: Lesson Objective: Assessment - complete one of the previous four tasks under exam conditions.
